Seeing the sights in London
On Thursday we saw Kensington Palace in the Kensington Gardens, which is connected to Hyde park, which is in full bloom (3 weeks ahead of Halifax I would say… sigh…)
Between “the Tube” and walking, getting around is a breeze. We saw Saint Paul’s Cathedral up close, and from the Millennium Bridge. The bridge is for foot traffic only, and crosses the Thames to connect the Tate Modern and the new Globe Theatre with the Area around St. Paul’s.
Here is the Tower Bridge from the river walk. The weather was party cloudy/sunny so we switched layers a lot as we walked around the river walk.
Visiting the Tower of London was great, I wish we had allowed more time in hindsight. This is a view of Tower Bridge from inside the Tower grounds.
Supper was well earned with all the walking we did today. Pretty solid pub grub and pints at the Victoria pub in the west end near our hotel.
We popped by the Queen’s house (aka Buckingham Palace) and as you can see it is really big.
Actually, this photo is from Wednesday, but we ran out of internet time. It’s the Tower Bridge from the tour bus.
Giant Ferris wheel ride on a clear day, well worth the lines at the London Eye!
